Is this really done by hand without machines?
Yes all of the embroidery we sell is done by hand. Backgrounds are created using different methods on the silk. It may be dyed, airbrushed or printed on the silk that the Xiao Xia selects.
Remember you are always welcome to come and watch her create this art and if you are in the Cleveland, Ohio area she will be happy to teach you this art form.
How will you ship this to me?
All of the art is shipped without frames and glass, I realize that they are in frames in the pictures but that is to personal a choice to for us to make and it only represents a small number of the options you have available in frames. We do not sell frames over the internet. The art will be shipped mounted on hardboard in standard sizes. You can take it to any frame store to have it matted and framed.
Billing is done through our credit card service and will appear as the Silk Needle on your statement.
You can return your purchase within 15 days of the delivery date. The merchandise must be in the same condition it was shipped and we recommend that you purchase insurance for the art. We will not accept damaged goods in return We will help you to recover your purchase through the shipper’s insurance program.

Why is the embroidery so expensive?
The embroidery is very inexpensive for hand made art. It cannot be reproduced by machine or printing everyone is different even if it uses the same pattern.
Xiao Xia can only do so many pieces a year and she is now doing free hand art and translating photos into embroidery, the price matches her accomplishments in this field. They are one of kind even when she uses the same design.
